The Killeen Evening Lions Club was chartered on November 11, 1964 with the following 29 members:
Lonnie D. Allison – KISD Middle School teacher
William A. Beck – Killeen Postman
Cloud C. Carter – Retired Lieutenant Colonel, taught Civics at Killeen High School. Later 1st Commandant of Killeen High School’s Jr ROTC program
Daniel F. Coe
A. C. Donohoo – Active duty Doctor of Opthalmology at Ft. Hood. President of Killeen Evening Lions Club (1965-1966)
Elmer A. Douglas – Retired Warrant Officer and ran a loan business in Killeen. President of Killeen Evening Lions Club (1966-1967)
Elbridge Gerry “E. G.” Fish – Retired Army officer. Originally from Massachusetts. Ancestors on both sides of family were well known politicians. Elbridge Gerry, a Founding Father of the US was the 9th Governor of Massachusetts and Vice President under James Madison (1813 – 1814), remembered as the Governor who created “Gerrymandering” as a political tactic. On the Fish side of the family, was Hamilton Fish, Secretary of State under President Ulysses S Grant (1869 – 1877)
George Franz, Jr. – Killeen dentist
Jimmy K. French – Physics teacher at Killeen High School
Robert Lee Grace – Band Leader at Nolan Middle School
Russell C. Handke – Retired Lieutenant Colonel, ran “Project Transition” on Ft Hood, which allowed soldiers to spend their last six months on active duty to go to college full time or receive technical training for Vietnam Veterans

Felix H. Sheffield, Jr.
Garland D. Sheridan – After finishing his education at Southwest Texas State University (now Texas State), took job in the Texas Panhandle. Later returned to Killeen to operate the new (at the time) school bus barn, whose building has since been named after him.
John A. Southard – Taught American History & Civics at Killeen High School. Later went to work in Army Education at Ft Hood and Germany (1968 – 1989). President of Killeen Evening Lions Club (1973-1974). District Governor for MD2-X3 (1997-1998)
Julian Stern – Civilian contractor on Ft Hood providing glasses to soldiers
